Louis A. Leslie was the chief editor of the Gregg Publishing Company as well as a leading authority on shorthand systems. In 1987, he donated to Rider University a collection of approximately 9,500 books and periodicals on shorthand, typing, and the history of shorthand education. Covering the period from 1682 to the 1970s, the collection contains examples of every shorthand system ever invented and many unsuccessful systems as well. Represented in this digital collection are various types of shorthand systems. More types continue to be added.
The digitization of this collection is funded by The John Robert Gregg Fund of the New York Community Trust.
